Nepal is a seismically active region, located at the convergence of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, making it highly susceptible to earthquakes. One of the most devastating earthquakes in recent history struck Nepal on April 25, 2015. With a magnitude of 7.8, it devastated large parts of the country, including the capital, Kathmandu, and surrounding areas. The earthquake resulted in nearly 9,000 deaths and left tens of thousands injured. Additionally, millions were displaced, and thousands of homes, historic buildings, and cultural landmarks were destroyed.The earthquake also triggered avalanches on Mount Everest, claiming the lives of several climbers.
