In addition to the core security features, iPhones offer several other protections. The Secure Enclave chip stores sensitive information, like passwords and biometric data, in a separate, encrypted area. App Sandbox ensures apps can’t access data from other apps, maintaining isolation for privacy. iOS Gatekeeper prevents malicious software from running by verifying apps before installation. The App Store review process further ensures only safe apps are available for download. Network Security features like VPN support, secure Wi-Fi connections, and SSL/TLS encryption ensure data stays safe during online interactions. Privacy Enhancements, such as tracking prevention and app privacy reports, give users more control over how their data is shared. Finally, Apple uses hardware-based security to protect against attacks, such as hardware roots of trust and secure boot mechanisms.
